For Clubs

Transition and welfare support for the players in your academy - the ones you release, and the ones you keep. By investing in Beyond The Pitch, it shows players, parents and the wider football community that the club values its people, supports them through key career transitions and recognises that developing better players starts with supporting better people.
The moments nobody prepares you for
Released or retained, most young players are dealing with far more than they’ll ever say to a member of staff. The pressure, the self doubt, the uncertainty of their future - it mostly stays unspoken, which is exactly what makes it dangerous. Speaking to someone independent who isn’t connected to the club can be the difference maker, even to the players who get professional contracts. Credible, structured support from someone your players can trust can take them to the next level in the first team. The ones who are released, we have access to a free conversation with a careers advisor alongside the psychological support from someone who has experienced exactly what they’re going through.
What the support looks like
A group workshop delivered to your Under 18 squad, or 1-2-1 support and mentoring, bringing about footballs biggest transition into the open and the thoughts young players carry but rarely share. It comes with practical psychological techniques and mindset data tools to improve their psychology when dealing with the two paths, release or pro. Options for working with 1-5 players, packages for working with 6+ players, or a simple one off workshop to understand Beyond The Pitch more and to see if it’s the right fit. A one off group session by itself is only going to help these young men, the 1-2-1 work can always come later.

Why it works
The edge here is that it’s led by a current pro with over 300 efl games. Your players will talk because he’s one of them, he’s been released twice but he’s also seen the other side of becoming an established pro. Sam is DBS checked, safeguarding certified, holds Level 3 Counselling skills, holds a postgraduate degree in Psychology, Emotional Intelligence & Leadership and is a facilitator for Sporting Chance. An accessible introductory pricing for the workshop or 1-2-1 support, clubs can invest in their players’ personal development and wellbeing without a significant financial commitment.
